Contents
ENGL 8818EEF is a comprehensive course consisting of two sections which introduce students to major topical issues in sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics.
Contact hours
78 face-to-face contact hours involving evening lectures and Sunday tutorials.
Learning support
This is a face-to-face course which includes 1) lectures and 2) tutorials. Lectures are used for explaining and analysing concepts and theories, as well as raising questions for further discussion in tutorials. In tutorials, small-group discussion is used to help students clarify the main concepts and illustrate these with further examples. Led by the tutors, students also discuss how their understanding of the English language system can be related to teaching. Tutorials are also used to help students plan and work on their assignments.
