EIU.com upgrade

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) provides access to up-to-date economic and political information on a national and regional level. Users can find information on business environment, fiscal policy analysis, foreign trade performance, 7 years economic forecast, and in-depth industry-by-industry reports.

EIU.com has recently upgraded its website to provide a brand new graphical interface. Users can now find information easier browsing the website or use the improved search engine.

To access, go to Electronic Library > Electronic Resources > Keyword Search > type in "EIU Business Intelligence".

Emerald launched new platform

Emerald provides access to e-journals in various business areas. Titles include European Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Journal of Knowledge Management and more.

Emerald has launched its new platform Emerald Insight in August. It features a more functional interface and added in various personalization tools such as "My Profile".

To access all the Emerald titles, go to Electronic Library > Electronic Resources > Keyword Search > type in "Emerald" and then click on an e-journal title.

Ovid Interface upgrade

This database provides access to nursing, medical, health, and environmental related content. It contains information extracted from Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Medline, and BIOSIS.

Ovid has re-designed its website in July. The new version offers new functions such as "Find Similar" and "Find Citing Articles". Search results are now color coded to be more easily read.

To access all the Ovid titles, go to Electronic Library > Electronic Resources > Keyword Search > type in "Ovid".

Service Alerts

Easier to access E-Library at home!

When accessing databases, E-Journals and NetLibrary e-books at home, you can simply type in your User ID and Password to open the resources. This method does not require additional browser configuration or software installation.

Existing Library Proxy and VPN users do not need to revert browser settings or uninstall software.

Useful Links added in MyOUHK

Links to the "Subject Resources", the "Books Recently Arrived" list, and the "Library Service Update" are added in MyOUHK under eServices > Electronic Library for your convenience. Login to MyOUHK and check them out.

Featured Resource

ABI/INFORM Global (ProQuest) provide access to full text content of Academy of Marketing Science Journal (1973 - ), Wall Street Journal (1984 -), Far Eastern Economic Review (1991 - ), Asia Pacific Journal of Management (1992 -) among 1000+ journal titles. Content includes recent business conditions, marketing trends, management techniques, corporate strategies, and industry-specific topics worldwide. ABI/INFORM also contains information on more than 60,000 companies as well as executive profiles.

This database has recently improved its graphical user interface to provide clearer search instructions. The newly added "More Like This" feature will help users to locate related search results more efficiently. This year, 10,000 dissertations on business topics are added to the database to enrich the content. Users can access these dissertation by clicking on the dissertation tabs in the result list.

To access, go to Electronic Library > Electronic Resources > Keyword Search > type in "ABI/INFORM"
