Statistics on International Trade in Services (SourceOECD)

Are you looking for international trade statistics for service industries? This new database covers the difficult to measure trade in services. It provides statistics on international trade in service industries of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries as well as the definitions and and methodological notes. The data from 1999 onwards is covered.

 

 

To access Statistics on International Trade in Services, go to Electronic Library > E-Journals & Databases > type in "Statistics on International Trade in Services".

Resources Updates

 

Apabi Reader (version 3.2.4.3270)

The new version of Apabi Reader is now ready! It has been upgraded from version 3.1.1.3133 to 3.2.4.3270. If you had already downloaded the previous version before, please check upgrading steps.

If you are a new user, please follow the instructions in Apabi Reader (version 3.2.4.3270) for downloading and setting up the reader. The new version supports Vista platform and provides more functions such as reading capabilities. Its loading speed is faster and the whole ebook can be retrieved within seconds.

 

 

To access Apabi e-book collection, go to Electronic Library > E-Books > Browse > Collections > By Providers > Apabi.

Australian Education Index (AEI) & British Education Index (BEI) on Dialog DataStar

The AEI and BEI have been moved to a new interface, Dialog DataStar. AEI is renamed as AUEI which covers educational research, policy and practice and is produced by the Cunningham Library at the Australian Council for Educational Research. BEI is now called BREI which includes aspects of educational policy and administration, evaluation and assessment, technology and special educational needs in UK. Dialog DataStar also provides access to Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) which contains comprehensive searchable education journal indexes.  

 

 

To access AUEI or BREI via Dialog DataStar, go to Electronic Library > E-Journals & Databases > type in "Dialog DataStar".

Hong Kong is facing the economic downturn in 2009 and the employment opportunities follow the trend. While the Financial Secretary put "preserving jobs" as his primary objective in The Budget 2009-2010, the graduates and job hunters should grasp this chance to share the additional funding and benefit. Service Alerts  

Anti-theft device on single seated study carrels

 

The Library has installed an anti-theft device on each study carrel for the users to lock up their belongings. However, the users need to bring in their own locks.

 

Please be reminded that it is still the user's responsibility to attend to their personal belongings. The Library will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.

Exam Papers for the 2008 October Semester

 

Past papers of the February 2009 examination, those provided to Library, are now available in print and online format. Go to E-Library Home Page > E-Reserve. Log in with your user ID and password, then key in your course code to search.

Digital Signage in Library

Users can access the latest news and information about OUHK and the Library via a 40" LCD digital monitor near the Counter of the Library. For example, the latest weather condition, class schedule and their locations, the Library's news and announcements, OUHK's upcoming events, ... etc. are all displayed continuously. New video demos of using Library's facilities will be coming soon. Remember to stop and check out the latest contents when you approach the Counter next time.
