LawInfoChina
Looking for full-text English translation of Chinese law and judicial cases? LawInfoChina is a useful resource for you. Apart from providing the Chinese full-text of the latest Chinese laws and regulations (1949- ), judicial cases and full-text articles of major Chinese domestic journals, the resource also contains a Chinese-English database which provides full-text English translations of major Chinese laws and regulations, typical judicial cases and presently effective Sino-foreign tax treaties. LawInfoChina is a useful resource for the study of Chinese law and Chinese legal translation.
To access LawInfoChina, go to Electronic Library > E-Journals & Databases > type in “lawinfochina”

Health and Safety [Barbour Index]
The database provides up-to-date information on UK Health and Safety legislations and regulations, as well as legislation guides of Australia, European Union, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland and United States of America. It also contains full-text documents from key health and safety international organizations such as Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and World Health Organization (WHO). The database is a useful resource for the study of occupational health and safety.

Current Contents Connect – Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences
Want to keep track of the emerging trends of scientific research and the latest development of physical science? The Library has subscribed to the Physical, Chemical & Earth Science edition of the Current Contents Connect Database. The database provides up-to date access to complete tables of contents, abstracts and bibliographic information published by over 1,050 leading journals since 1998 in the area of Physical, Chemical & Earth Science. The database is a resource that can help you discover emerging trends of scientific research and latest development in physical sciences.

China Doctoral Thesis Full-text Database
In addition to the China Master Thesis Full-text Database, the library has also recently subscribed to the China Doctoral Thesis Full-text Database. Our users can now have access to full texts of the following 4 series from 2008 onwards:

Electronic and Information Science
Politics/Military Affairs/Law

PsycARTICLES
To provide seamless access to more full-text articles related to psychology and behavioral science, the library has recently subscribed to the PsycARTICLES database which is provided on the CSA platform. The database contains full-text articles from journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association and Hogrefe & Huber. It contains more than 143,000 full-text articles of about 70 journals with the earliest title published in 1894.
To access PsycARTICLES, go to Electronic Library > E-Journals & Databases > type in “psycarticles”

New E-book Platform

The new ebrary e-book platform contains a growing collection of multi-disciplinary full text English electronic books purchased by the Library. The ebrary Reader contains a speech function and the following InfoTools to facilitate users’ research and studies:

Climate Change
According to the Hong Kong Environmental Department, Hong Kong has been warming up in the last century. Changes in Hong Kong’s climate factors include temperature rise in urban areas, increasing number of very hot days and nights, reducing number of cold days and rising sea level in the harbour. What is climate change and how Hong Kong is affected by it? Check it out!

Featured Services
Library Virtual Tour
A 3D Library Virtual Tour is now available in the Electronic Library. The service is accessible 24 hours a day, allowing you to tour around the library building without going to the campus physically. It includes interactive floor plans and three dimensional graphics of Library facilities or collections. You can navigate by yourself with the tool bar or instantly access any “hot spot” using the buttons available. Facilities descriptions with pictures or videos can be viewed by clicking the hot spots on the floor plan.

Click "Go" to begin the Library Virtual Tour.
Use the Navigation bar and Hot spot button to navigate the Library "hot spots".
Click the orange hot spots on the floor plan to view descriptions with pictures or videos.
Note: First-time users will be asked to install the "Google Earth Plug-in". Please follow the instructions on screen or refer to Library Virtual Tour > Help > Plug-in installation.
Service Alerts
User Education Campaign
The Library has launched a User Education Campaign from 18 January 2010 to 29 January 2010 with an aim to promote a quiet and pleasant environment conducive to user's research and study. 19 voluntary student Library Ambassadors had helped to promote the campaign by distributing promotion leaflets at the Library entrance and patrol in the Library to maintain a quiet environment. A BIG THANKS to our Library Ambassadors!
The Library is a place for you to read and study. Users are reminded to keep quiet in the Library!
Single Password Management
Remote access to E-Library resources is available to current staff and students. You are required to enter your OUHK Username and Single Password when assessing the Library's subscribed resources at home. Both new and continuing students should create a Single Password. To create or manage your single password, please go to OUHK homepage http://www.ouhk.edu.hk > Current Students or Staff > IT Support > Single Password Management.
Library Hotline (including telephone book renewal service)
The Library Hotline 2194-6336, including telephone book renewal service, will be terminated with effect from 1 April 2010. All Library Information is available in our Electronic Library and you can renew your borrowed items through our online Library Catalogue.
You can renew your borrowed items online by going to Electronic Library > Library Catalogues > OUHK Library Catalogue or in person at our Library’ s Circulation Counter. More details on online renewal via Library Catalogue can be found here.
