Welcome to the first issue of the Library Service Update! Issued 4 times a year, it aims at providing you with the up-to-date news and events about the services and resources in the Campus Library and the Electronic Library.

Notification Service (Students only)
Wonder how to receive book reservation, overdue, and other Library reminders timely? You can now register the Email Notification Service on the OUHK website. Click the user guide to know more.
Wonder how to find up-to-date resources in Electronic Resources and E-Text more efficiently? The Library has developed a WebLink Service to help you generate resource list of E-Lib materials so that you don't need to repeat the same search again. Click the user guide to know more.
Remark: If you are not using Campus PC, you must have the proper remote access connection to the E-Lib set up before accessing to the electronic resources below. For Details, please refer to the User Access Support section at the E-Lib homepage.

Resource Update: Database Upgrade
ProQuest, an electronic database provider of ABI/INFORM, Accounting & Tax, Digital Dissertations and International Newsstand databases, has released ProQuest version 6.0 in July 2002. The web interface was upgraded including new features such as expanded publication coverage information and recent search function. To access to the databases of ProQuest, enter "ProQuest" using Keyword Search in the Electronic Resources in the E-Lib. Click the search guide here to know more.
EBSCO, an electronic database provider of Academic Search Elite and Business Search Elite, has released EBSCOhost version 6.0 in August 2002, featuring new user interface along with other enhanced functions such as a redesigned advanced search and new "Folder" feature. To access to the databases of EBSCOhost, enter the database name such as "Academic Search Elite" using Keyword Search in the Electronic Resources in the E-Lib. With more than 73,000 articles, Britannica Online includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus and the Britannica Internet Guide. Just click the search guide to know more.
The OED Online contains the complete text of the 20-volume Second Edition, first published in 1989, together with its 3-volume Additions Series, published in 1993 (volumes 1 and 2) and 1997 (volume 3). To access the OED Online, just enter "OED" using Keyword Search in the Electronic Resources in E-Lib.
