Remote Access Alerts

 

Library Proxy Service Launched

Library Proxy service is a new access method for off-campus users to access restricted resources in the Electronic Library. It is a platform-independent connection method which requires no software installation. Click the instruction page for more details.

 

 

 

SecureAccess Software Discontinued

 

OUHK SecureAccess software will cease service with effective from 15 May, 2003. Please use other connection method(s) based on your OS platform as follows.

Library Catalogue in Web Interface Launched

Click here to try this out! Now there is no need to login to search what library materials are available in the Library. The web version of the Library  Catalogue also allows you to access electronic resources directly if you have the  remote access connection properly set up. Click the search guide for more details.

 

Arrivals of Set Books & Exam Papers

 

Set textbooks and exam papers for the April  semester are ready for your use. Follow the steps below to get an electronic copy, if available, in the Electronic Library.

Set textbooks: E-Lib > E-text Centre>Browse  

Collections> By Formats> Set Textbooks

Exam papers: E-Lib > Reserve Collection> Login  with your E-Lib A/C> key in course code to proceed 

Complete sets of textbooks are available for use inside the Library. You can enquire the Library staff.

Journal Use Study In Progress

The Library is undertaking a Journal Use Study from April through September 2003. The objective of the study is to explore usage pattern of the journals. In order to obtain accurate usage data, please fill in the slip tagged, if any, to the journal issue after browsing/reading /photocopying; or just leave the issue after use in the trolleys, collection boxes or on the tables. Your cooperation is essential to the success of this study and is highly appreciated.

E-Resource Update

Factiva has recently added a new section "Companies/Markets" to include all the company-related search function such as Quotes and Company Screening. A new Chinese language interface option is also available. Click the user guide for details.  

ProQuest has recently added 21 key business and management titles from SAGE publications to ABI/INFORM Complete. Click here to see the 
complete titles.

 News Databases

WiseNews allows you to search newspaper articles such as Apple Daily (蘋果日報),Economic Journal (信報), Ming Pao (明報). The 350 sources are mainly Chinese language newspapers, news magazines, web news portals, and news agencies in the Greater China region. Click here to see the source list.

International Newsstand contains over 100 leading international newspapers and news sources such as SCMP and Asian Wall Street Journal on ProQuest platform. Click here to see the source list.

China InfoBank contains over 15 Chinese language databases including Chinese Economic News (中國經濟新聞庫) and Chinese Journal (中文報刊庫) sourced from over 1000 leading newspapers and trading magazines in China.
