Service Alerts

"OUHK User Only" in Electronic Resources tells you that this is a resource restricted for OUHK staff and students only. Unlike other websites, you must have a remote access connection properly setup and activated in your PC BEFORE accessing this resource from an off-campus site, e.g. at home.

"Keeping Current" Service

"Keeping Current" Service guides you how to sign up for the table-of-contents (TOC) and saved search alert services by database and e-journal providers. You can then receive email alerts directly from the providers. You can also find the TOC/full text articles of distance learning journals. 

The Keeping Current Service can be found as one of the scrolling headlines in Electronic Resources > Browse and Keyword Search page.

Copyright warning message
Users must take note of the message before using all databases and electronic journals subscribed by the OUHK Library. The message can be found E-Library > Electronic Resources > at the top right corner of Browse, Keyword Search, and Advanced Search page.

 
Get your single password
Starting from 1 October 2003, you can get your own single password to access all eligible online services, including E-Library, eServices in OUHK website, MyOUHK, and Online Learning Environment (OLE).

To create your single password, go to OUHK website (students) > Support > Student Account or E-Library> Remote Access Guide> Change Password. Contact Internet technical support staff at 2711-2100 if you have questions.

Exam Papers for April 2003 Semester
The Aug 2003 exam papers that the Library have received are available online. Go to E-Library Home Page > Reserve Collection. Log in with your user ID and password, then key in your course code to search.

E-Resource Update

Remark: If you are not using Campus PC, you
must have the proper remote access connection to the E-Lib set up BEFORE accessing to the electronic resources below and on the right. For Details, please refer to the Remote Access Guide section in the E-Lib homepage.

Database trial: Business Source Premier

The EBSCOhost database Business Source Elite will be upgraded to Business Source Premier (BSP) on 1 Jan 04. The free trial has become available since 26 Nov 2003.

BSP adds more than 1700 new full-text titles. It expands the full-text archive of 250 top management journals back to 1965 or the first issue published. For instance, Harvard Business Review dates back to 1922.

 
OUHK students and staff may access BSP in the E-Library > Electronic Resources > Keyword Search, then key in "Business Source Premier". If you have any questions, please contact our Information Desk at 2768-6777.

New Database: Thomson One Banker Analytics

Replacing the soon-to-be-phased-out Company Analysis, the new database Thomson One Banker Analytics (T1BA) not only provides financial statistics such as company financials, Extel cards from Extel Financials; but also allows access to consensus & earning estimates, equity prices, source filings, market news sourced from Worldscope, First Call, Edgar, & Datastream.

T1BA is available for use within the Campus Library only. Please ask our Library staff for assistance if you want to access this database.

Company Analysis can still be used with the last update received in Nov 2003.

Factiva launches a new single search interface to find relevant indexing terms more easily in Sept 2003. Click the user guide for more details.
