The School of A&SS has launched a project entitled 'Chinese Culture in the Global Context' with an RGC grant. The first seminar, 'How Global Is Chinese Cinema? A discussion of the distribution and reception of Chinese film in the West over the last thirty years' by Dr Julian Ward from the University of Edinburgh, will take place on 15 Dec (Fri), co-organized with the Tin Ka Ping Cultural Centre.
Following the 26th Congregation, the Alumni Affairs Office of the Public Affairs Unit has arranged a group photo taking session on 17 Dec (Sun) with the presence of the President, Vice Presidents, School Deans and academics. Also not to be missed are the campus decorations set up for graduates to take pictures with families and friends, especially the giant floor stickers on the staircase of Cheng Yu Tung Building on Main Campus. Come back any time between now and 29 Dec.
Fresh graduates from the Animation and Visual Effects programme Shek Ka-chun, Wong Chun-long and Wong Tsz-ying won Best Animated Short Film with the final-year project Losing Sight of a Longed Place.
The Congregation is held in three sessions from 12–14 Dec, presenting awards to 7,053 graduates of various academic levels. On 12 Dec, HKSAR Chief Executive and OUHK Chancellor the Honourable Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor also conferred Honorary Doctorates on Dr Eddy Fong Ching, Dr the Honourable Elsie Leung Oi-sie, Dr the Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan and Prof. Lee Chack-fan.
Undergraduate students from different programmes share their fruitful lives at the OUHK including their experiences during studies, competitions, internships and overseas exchanges, to name but a few.
Graduates will be qualified for further study in testing and certification, applied sciences or related areas at the OUHK or other tertiary institutions
