Biography
Dr Antonios Roumpakis is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Arts and Social Sciences. Dr Antonios Roumpakis joined the Hong Kong Metropolitan University in February 2026.
Dr Antonios Roumpakis was previously appointed as Professor of Comparative Social Policy and served as Head of Social Policy (2022-2025) at the School for Business and Society, University of York. He has also been elected as a member of the Social Policy Association Executive Board (2018-2025) where, among other roles, he served as Treasurer (2022-2025). Since 2022, he also serves as a co-editor of the Journal of International and Comparative Social Policy (Cambridge University Press).
Dr Antonios Roumpakis has published in top ranked peer-reviewing journals (e.g. Journal of Social Policy, Critical Social Policy, International Labour Review, Politics, Journal of Comparative and International Social Policy, Social Policy & Society, Social Policy & Administration). Dr Antonios Roumpakis has also published book chapters with reputable publishers and internationally prominent edited volumes (Edgar Elgar, Policy Press, Ashgate). He has supervised numerous PhD students to completion, co-organised national and international conferences and has presented his research in regional and international fora.
