Biography

Dr Lo Man-chi is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities, Language and Translation, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Hong Kong Metropolitan University. She received her Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours), Master of Philosophy, and Doctor of Philosophy in Chinese Language and Literature from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include modern and contemporary Chinese literature, Sino-Japanese literary relations, and Hong Kong literature. She is the author of Tian Han and Taisho Tokyo: The Cultural Experiences of Public Spheres and the Formation of New Women (2020). She serves as the Principal Investigator for the RGC Faculty Development Scheme projects titled "'Shanghai fever': Japanese travel writers and modern Chinese writers in the 1920s" and "Tian Han, the Le Midi Movement, and the Cultural Salon in 1920s Shanghai: Bohemianism and Transcultural Modernity". Her research papers have been published widely in leading academic journals such as Journal of Theatre Studies, Chung Wai Literary, Journal of Taiwan Literature Studies, Sino-Humanitas, Journal of Chinese Studies, Tsing Hua Journal of Chinese Studies, Modern Chinese Literature, Journal of Chinese Literature, Twenty-First Century, and Journal of Chinese Literary Studies
