Biography
Tsang Chi Chung graduated with a Bachelor's degree and Master of Philosophy from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and subsequently pursued his doctoral studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He currently teaches at the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, where he serves as Programme Director of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chinese (JS9011). In 2023, he received the "President's Award for Teaching Excellence" from Hong Kong Metropolitan University.
Dr. Tsang's research interests include literary criticism, ci poetry studies, Republican-era scholarship and literature, and in recent years, he has focused on the integration and innovation of digital humanities techniques with traditional scholarship. He has authored one monograph and published over ten academic papers in domestic and international academic journals and conference proceedings. His recent research projects include: "A Study of Ci Poetry Annotations in the Republican Period" (UGC/FDS16/H18/19), "A Quantitative Study of the Relationship between Prosody and Lyricism in Liu Yong's Slow Ci" (RD/2022/1.15) and Study on the Relationship between Tonal Prosody and Lyricism of Ci Poetry: Focusing on Liǔ Yǒng, Zhōu Bāngyàn, Jiāng Kuí, Zhāng Yán (UGC/FDS16/H34/24)
