Our School offers full-time undergraduate (UG) programmes in a wide spectrum of academic fields in creative arts and media, languages and humanities, and social sciences, with emphasis on theoretical knowledge, practical skills, as well as other learning experiences.
We admit Year 1 students to UG programmes either via the JUPAS for those possess qualifications of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), or direct application for those who have qualifications other than HKDSE (e.g. IB, GCE and NCEE). Applicants with prior qualifications of Associate Degrees or Higher Diploma may also be considered for Senior Year entry (Year 2 or Year 3). More information about admission and application could be found at the University's UG admission website.
The 4-year UG programmes require student to complete a total of 120 credits (2023 Autumn intake and thereafter), comprising major subjects (core or electives courses), English Language Enhancement courses, General Education courses, Outside-discipline courses, and practicum (for particular programme only). The courses are normally offered in Autumn and Spring terms, with some of them in Summer also. Details of the programme structure and course offering could be found at our UG programme websites.
The School believes that teaching and learning should not be confined within the classroom. Our teaching staff are committed to provide guidance to students through individual or group consultation. Students are welcome to discuss with their tutors about their learning, career plan and any other areas concerning their personal growth.
In addition, students are exposed to various enrichment activities, such as overseas exchange and study tours, internships, service learning programmes, research opportunities, and internal and external competitions, etc.
UG programmes offered by A&SS are eligible for the Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme for Self-financing Undergraduate Studies (NMTSS) or Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP). Besides, the School offered a number of scholarships to support students in joining various enrichment activities.
