  • Provides advanced training in economics, in order for students to analyse economic issues from economic viewpoints<\/li><\/ul>
    • Trains postgraduate economics students with sound knowledge in economic theory and econometrics modelling techniques to facilitate policy formulation and implication through developing optimal solutions, and to accomplish excellence in undertaking research in economics<\/li>
    • Provides postgraduate education and training in public and economic policy analysis with econometric modelling and data science emphases<\/li>
    • Graduates will be particularly competitive in the job market for positions directly related to economic research in both private and public sectors<\/li><\/ul>

      Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:<\/div>
      • Explain economic issues and apply related concepts in analysing problems in economic policies and economic development;<\/li>
      • Conduct economic analysis and apply appropriate quantitative methodologies to undertake research in a wide variety of economic and public policy issues;<\/li>
      • Analyse\u00a0critically\u00a0how\u00a0economic and\u00a0public\u00a0policy\u00a0impact\u00a0on\u00a0individual countries;<\/li>
      • Evaluate\u00a0 influences\u00a0 of\u00a0 economic\u00a0 policies\u00a0 on\u00a0 local\u00a0 issues,\u00a0 and\u00a0 appraise\u00a0the economic methodology in resolving local and global economic problems;<\/li>
      • Comment on economic policies; and<\/li>
      • Analyse how social and public policies impact on the economic development of Hong Kong.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>
