Biography

Dr. Joseph Lau is an interdisciplinary educator dedicated to bridging the worlds of business administration, linguistics, and educational psychology. Passionate about empowering learners, he focuses on fostering clear thinking, confident expression, and the leadership skills essential in today's dynamic world.

As a Chartered Linguist and Chartered Manager, Dr. Lau brings a breadth of professional insight to his role at HKMU. His career spans vocational language training, educational consulting, and assessment design, serving a wide range of learners and institutions.

Dr. Lau believes in a practical, learner-centered approach that connects classroom learning to real-world applications. Beyond academia, he is active in community education, offering non-profit sessions on self-improvement, ethics, and communication. He is also an avid creative writer, with published poetry exploring themes of identity, resilience, and human connection.
