Biography

Dr. Ava Xingmeng HUANG is a senior lecturer in Sports Management in Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. Her particular interests lie on Olympic and Paralympic Movement, international elite sport policy, and social issues in sport.

Ava holds a PhD in elite sport policy and MSc in international sport management. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the Olympic gender equality policy implementation in national sport governing bodies. During her PhD study, she served as the researcher in United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation Paris Headquarters (UNESCO-Paris) for the project of eliminating doping in sport.

Before pursuing an academic career, Ava was a professional DanceSport athlete with the achievement of national champion in China. She also cares deeply about athlete development in sport and dance industry.
