Upon completing the programme, students should be able to:<\/p><ol><li><p><em>critically review <\/em>and <em>evaluate<\/em> knowledge and perspectives in the area of study based on relevant theories and research findings in the international literature;<\/p><\/li><li><p><em>apply<\/em> new understanding and research findings to reflect on their practice and make suggestions for improvement;<\/p><\/li><li><p><em>demonstrate<\/em> leadership in the school context in the area of study;<\/p><\/li><li><p><em>design<\/em>, <em>conduct <\/em>and <em>report<\/em> on a small-scale research project in the area of study;<\/p><\/li><li><p><em>use<\/em> a variety of appropriate methods for collecting, compiling and analysing data; and<\/p><\/li><li><p><em>apply<\/em> understanding of English as a linguistic system for planning and organizing effective English language learning.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-6472\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Professional recognition<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-6472\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-6472\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>The Master of Education in English Language Education programme is approved by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR government:<\/p><ol><li>as a recognized English language major degree programme;<\/li><li>as a qualification meeting the language proficiency requirement for English language teachers; and<\/li><li>for the Professional Development Incentive Grant Scheme for Language Teachers.<\/li><\/ol><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-6473\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Entry requirements<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-6473\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-6473\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>Students admitted to the programme are required to have obtained:<\/p><ol><li>recognized Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent);
