HKMU starts using the server virtualization technology since 2006. Server virtualization has the benefits of reducing hardware costs, reducing physical space and energy, faster server provisioning and easier to maintain. Currently, HKMU Virtual Server Farm is built on VMWare ESXi platform. It supports emulations of Intel X64 servers running in Windows and Linux operating systems as Virtual Machines (VM).
System owner should understand the usage and prepare well the requirement of the system before the application of a VM. The followings are some pre-requisitions:
