How to join

Part 1. Following our IG and receive a souvenir

Follow our IG (@hkmulib).
Go to the Help Station^# at Stanley Ho Library.
Show our library staff you have followed HKMU Library IG on your mobile device and receive a souvenir^* from us.

^#Opening hours of Help Station is 12:00-19:00, Monday to Friday. If Help Station is closed, please go to the Service Counter of the Stanley Ho Library.

^*Each participant is eligible for only one souvenir on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last.

Part 2. Voting for your favourite study place

Choose your favourite study spaces from the following popular study spaces.
Click the link to go to our IG account and “Like” the post showing your favourite study space.
To be eligible for receiving the limited edition Library tote bag^#, you must be a follower of HKMU Library IG account and “Like” the IG post with the highest number of “Like”.

^#The quota of limited edition Library tote bag is 180. The Library will check the number of “Like” of posts in regular intervals during the activity period to record the number of “Like” and the IG accounts involved. The Library will send direct message to IG account holders who had liked the IG post recorded the most number of “Like” and inform them how to collect the tote bag on 1 December, or once one of the activity IG post reaches 180 “Like”.

Upon joining this activity, all participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by the Terms and conditions set out by the HKMU Library.

Terms and Conditions

The “Tell us your favourite study space in the HKMU Library!” promotional activity (referred as “Activity” below) is open to all eligible Library Users of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University. An eligible Library User refers to a user who holds a valid HKMU Identity Card, HKMU Library Borrower's Ticket, or HKMU Library Reader's Ticket during the activity period.
Upon joining this Activity, all participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below.
All participants are eligible to redeem a souvenir from the Library upon following the HKMU Library Instagram account (@hkmulib).
In order to redeem a souvenir, a participant must show he/she had followed the HKMU Library Instagram account by showing the “Following” screen of his/her own Instagram account in person at the Help Station or the Service Counter of the Stanley Ho Library.
The Library will record the IG account name of followers who redeemed souvenirs from the Library.
Souvenirs will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last. Each participant is eligible for one souvenir only.
Followers of the IG post with highest number of like will receive a limited edition tote bag. The quota is 180. The Library will send direct message to those followers to inform them how to collect the tote bag.
All participants must collect the tote bag on or before 31 January 2023. The Library reserves the right to re-allocate the souvenir after the deadline.
All participants have to comply with the latest campus access requirements in order to enter the HKMU campus libraries to redeem the souvenir or tote bag. For the latest details about the campus access requirements imposed by the University, you may visit the University's “Precautionary Measures on Campus” website and its FAQ on Vaccination/Test Reporting and Campus Access Control on the HKMU Homepage (www-uat.hkmu.edu.hk). The requirement is subject to change in accordance with the latest Government regulations and University's access control measures.
All screen captures provided to or made by the Library may be used in Library publications or promotional materials.
All personal information collected in the Activity will be kept confidential and used for the Activity and all the Activity related promotion matters only.
The personal information submitted by the participant must be complete and correct. In case the information submitted by the participant is found incomplete, incorrect, used or registered repeatedly, the Library reserves the right to disqualify such participant.
In case of any disputes arising from the Activity, the decision of the Library shall be final and binding.
The Library reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any participants that it deems to be in breach of the above Terms and Conditions.
This Terms and Conditions has been translated into Chinese. If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the Chinese version, the English version shall prevail.
