The programme is organized by LiPACE and Industrial Technology Consultants Limited (ITC) to meet the training requirement for occupational health and safety practitioners who want to register as a Registered Safety Auditor under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Management) Regulation.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, students should be able to :
Understand the legal requirements under relevant regulations on managing health and safety, safety audit and safety review;
Plan and conduct safety audit to assess the adequacy of a safety management system;
Describe the ways to develop, implement and maintain a successful safety management system;
Prepare a report to the senior management of an organization on the effectiveness of its safety management system and make recommendations for improvement;
Appraise a number of commonly used safety audit systems;
Develop a safety audit system for in-house use; and
Meet the academic requirement for registration as Registered Safety Auditors.

1-day on-site safety audit demonstration will be provided;
A comprehensive safety auditing programme designed to meet the educational requirements for registration as Registered Safety Auditors by the Labour Department;
Taught by experts and experienced practitioners who have a wide exposure to factories, construction sites, catering and cargo handling, offices, and other workplaces.
Target Audience
Students who have completed LiPACE's “Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety”, or equivalent. It is also suitable for those who are interested in obtaining the “Registered Safety Auditor” status.

Admission Qualifications
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent; or
Professional qualifications in occupational health and safety, such as Registered Safety Officers; or
Applicants with substantial relevant working experience may also be considered.

The programme will run around nine to ten months and all sessions will be held on every Wednesday and Friday, 7:00pm – 10:00pm at HKMU-CITA Campus.
Assessment
Students are required to pass assessment of the audit report and examination with weighting of 50% and 50% respectively. The passing mark is 60. Students are required to fulfill an attendance rate of 75% for two topics "Modern Safety Management" and "Effective Safety Auditing", and an attendance rate of 75% for the topic "Project on Auditing" the programme.
Award
A “Professional Certificate in Safety Auditing” will be jointly issued by LiPACE and ITC to those who have successfully completed the whole programme.
