Following the success of the first International Conference on Gerontechnology last year, the 2021 edition was held from 23 to 25 November with a topical theme: ‘Gerontechnology in COVID-19: Experiences and Revelation’. Once again, it was conducted in a hybrid mode to allow the participation of scholars, researchers and healthcare professionals across the globe. Two government officials, Secretary for Innovation and Technology Mr Alfred Sit Wing-hang and Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare Mr Ho Kai-ming, showed their support by delivering opening addresses. In addition to research presentations, the conference was packed with a total of five keynote addresses, two masterclasses and five workshops, providing participants with opportunities to not only grasp the latest trends in using healthcare technology with the elderly but also learn hands-on skills on helpful tools like robots and virtual assistants.
