HKMU President participates in the orientation activities with the new students, creating a lively atmosphere.


Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) held a Welcome Day yesterday (17 August) to greet freshmen with a series of orientation activities designed by staff and students, marking the beginning of their vibrant campus life. HKMU President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing was also present to welcome the new students, taking photos with them and encouraging them to participate in the many activities offered by the University to enjoy an inspiring and enriching “U-life”.
The Welcome Day attracted more than 1,600 full-time new students, creating a bustling atmosphere on campus. The new students actively participated in the various activities organised by the Student Affairs Office, such as the highlight activity “Wishing Wall”, which was widely welcomed by the new students, who enthusiastically voted for their ideal campus life. An array of fun and joyful orientation programmes were organised to showcase the diverse campus life at HKMU, including booths of the Student Union and more than 30 student societies and sports teams, as well as Student Affairs Office, to introduce various activities of the University to help them blend in with the campus community as soon as possible; service learning exhibits and experiential activities to highlight the content and objectives of a wide range of service learning programmes; career planning and student ambassador recruitment games to provide the students with information on the University's assistance and support for their future career development; and student counselling services to promote mental health to the new students and enable the University to identify their needs.
