In collaboration with the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council (HKYIC), Student Affairs Office (SAO) of Hong Kong Metropolitan University launched the “Date a CEO; Be a CEO” Mentorship Programme to allow students to learn from leaders of local industry and cultivate them to become future management talents with a macro vision. The first phase of the programme, Date a CEO, was held from October to December last year. CEO mentors shared their experience and success stories through some fun and relaxing activities such as hiking and DIY workshops. 18 outstanding students in phase one were then selected to participate in phase two, Be a CEO. They had the chance to job shadow with the CEO mentors in February to May to learn more about the daily operation and decision-making process of the company. They were also asked to play the role of CEO, try to find out areas for improvement in the company and provide feasible solutions.
