Enrichment Courses

By attending the following enrichment courses, students will be able to learn from KMB executives in addition to acquiring solid knowledge of the courses.

Certificate in Fundamental Bus Maintenance​
Practical Use of English in a Listed Company Environment
Case Studies and Legal Aspects of Vocational Rehabilitation

Certificate in Fundamental Bus Maintenance

  • A foundation course nurtures students' interest in bus maintenance through understanding each and every parts of a bus and equips students with basic bus maintenance skills. The course comprises two parts with four modules which cover chassis, driveline, electrical appliance and air-conditioning system. It is not a must for students to complete the two parts, whilst it is recommended to do so if students would like to have a comprehensive overview of the structure of a bus.
  • Students are provided with opportunities to tour around KMB Shatin Depot and to carry out bus maintenance works at our Technical Training Workshop under the supervision of experienced Instructors.

Part 1

  • Module 1: Chassis (底盤)
  • Module 2: Driveline (傳動)

Part 2

  • Module 3: Electrical Appliance (電器裝置)
  • Module 4: Air-conditioning System (冷氣系統)

Format of Teaching

  • Classroom training at KMB Academy, plus practical training at our running depots or the Technical Training Workshop at Shatin Depot. Small-group teaching will be adopted.

Duration

Target Students

  • A maximum of 20 persons for each part
  • Students in all disciplines and all study years are welcome
  • Proficient in both Chinese and English
  • Be familiar with KMB background

Application Details

  • Interested students will be required to attend an online briefing session co-offered by KMB and HKMU SAO on 27 April 2022 (Wed), 3-4pm via Zoom

Interested students should submit the up-to-date CV through the online application form on or before 22 May 2022 (Sun): 

Applications that are incomplete, late or have not accompanied by the required document(s) will not be processed further.

Applicants who do not receive any news from our office by 22 June 2022 should consider the applications unsuccessful.

Remarks

  • If the students have attended 90% of classroom and practical training as well as passed in the examinations, a certificate issued by KMB Academy will be granted and eligible to get a one-off subsidy of HK$1,000 under the Student Enhancement Scheme.
  • Outstanding students will be offered an internship opportunity in one of the KMB departments.
  • If students are interested in bus maintenance, they are welcome to take other courses to further their studies in bus maintenance in greater details in the following summer.
