Peng Chen has experienced a rich campus life at HKMU by immersing herself in different kinds of activities. Coming from Shenzhen, Peng stays at the off-campus accommodation in Hung Hom. As a residence tutor and non-local mentor, she has worked with senior students to hold orientation days and leisure activities for mainland freshmen to help them adapt to the u-life and Hong Kong life.<\/p>

\u201cI met students from diverse cultural backgrounds, discovered fascinating places in Hong Kong, polished Cantonese, leadership and activity planning skills.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Peng has also joined HKMU Trilingual Toastmasters Club. She actively participated and won prizes in the mandarin speech contests of the Toastmasters International Speech Contest.<\/p>

\u201cI have enhanced my public speaking skills and broadened my social network.\u201d<\/p>

Peng aims to be an English teacher after graduation. In the third year, she got the chance to be an intern teacher at a primary school.<\/p>

\u201cI taught the students English. Some of them have Special Educational Needs. I had to take care of their various learning needs, like preparing teaching materials with larger words for students with dyslexia. Also, I organised activities for the students. Despite the heavy workload, I still want to be a teacher since it is a meaningful and interesting job.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

With good academic performance and co-curricular engagement, Peng is awarded the residence scholarship, which aims to help mainland students better immerse in campus life and Hong Kong community and to fully develop their academic potential.<\/p>

\u201cThis is my second time to be awarded the scholarship.
