Add/Drop Period for the 2026 Summer Term
04-MAY-26
Dear Students, The Add/Drop period for course enrolment in the 2026 Summer Term will run from 11 May to 22 May 2026. To ensure a smooth add/drop process, please take note of the following Dos and Don’ts. (For Year 1 students admitted in the 2025/26AY, excluding sub-degree programmes students) Do enrol in the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training course in the 2026 Summer Term as this is a compulsory requirement for graduation. You will be pre-assigned by the Registry in MHFA, if you have not completed or enrolled it in previous term.
Do check your enrolment records on MyHKMU according to the Advice on Course Selection sheet, before taking any actions during the add/drop period to ensure your enrolled courses meet your programme requirements.
Do add the General Education (GE) courses according to the Advice on Course Selection sheet. If your preferred GE course is full, you should enrol in another suitable course. Please ensure the GE “field of study” do not overlap with each other, see this link for details.
Do add the advised number of elective courses according to the Advice on Course Selection sheet. If your preferred elective course is full, you should enrol in another suitable course. Enrolling in more courses than recommended may prevent fellow students from securing their desired classes.
Don’t submit 'Application for Add/Drop’ for the following purposes as these applications will not be processed. Students should take action by themselves (self-service) during Add/Drop Period.
- Adding electives and/or General Education (GE) courses that you can successfully enrol by yourself on MyHKMU;
Don’t swap any class section of core courses CASUALLY/CARELESSLY. Dropping an enrolled class section will result in forfeiting your quota for that section. Your quota may then be taken up by other students. Please note that there is no guarantee you can be re-enrolled in the original section after swapping, as this will depend on the availability of quotas.
