The Unit also develops educational technologies according to specific academic requirements. The eTool for Final Year Projects is one example. Functions of this eTool include:
Allowing students to indicate their FYP topic choices and enter information about themselves (e.g. skills, interests, academic background).
Providing a summary for project supervisors to consider.
Allowing students to check their results easily after the supervisors have entered their decisions in the eTool.
Allowing supervisors to generate and publish monthly presentation timetables.
Allowing students to fill in their progress reports online, and supervisors to give comments and grades to students after their presentations.
As a result, the eTool not only lightens the burden of supervisors, but also smooths the workflow between supervisors and students.
