The University encourages students to record their diverse learning experiences and reflect on what they have learnt from those activities in form of personal ePortfolios, which can be showcased to their future potential employers in job interviews. The University will conduct questionnaire survey to collect feedback of the programme from students. As pilot participants and users, students are required to provide their feedback on the iPad Pilot Programme by responding to the surveys.
As the iPad Pilot Programme is a trial program, it may be extended to cover more students in the future, depending on its effectiveness.

Equipped with various HKMU and other learning apps, the iPad serves as an e-school bag and a participation tool to facilitate learning. From in-class activities (polling, discussions, brainstorming, etc.) to co-curricular, extracurricular activities (competitions, service learning, workshops, practicums, etc.), you can record all of your learning experiences and achievements in various forms such as photos, which can then be showcased to your potential future employers.

The University will only give ONE iPad to each student. If you have lost it, please buy a new one and then schedule for app installation at ipp@hkmu.edu.hk.
Your iPad is covered with a 1-year warranty, which covers the following:
(a) Under the warranty period for the equipment, Apple will repair or replace the affected equipment, if there is a defect in the Equipment's materials or workmanship.
The warranty does not apply:
(a) to consumable parts, such as batteries, unless damage has occurred due to a defect in materials and workmanship;
(b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, broken face glass and broken plastic on ports;
(c) to damage caused by use with non- Apple products;
(d) to any modification of the iOS / iPadOS Software or Custom Software in which the equipment is not intended to be used or modified;
(e) to any third party firmware, iOS / iPadOS Software and Custom Software in which the software is not authorized by Apple;
(f) to third-party products or their effects on or interactions with the equipment;
(g) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider;
(h) to a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability;
(i) if any Apple serial number has been altered, defaced or removed.

No. The iPad can only be accessed with the HKMU username and password and is managed by the University for automatic software maintenance via Apple, so the sale of the device is impossible.
The iPad provided by the University comes with automatic updates of apps and a push notification system, so that it is designed to ensure that you will not miss anything for school. Thus, you are recommended to use the University-provided iPad.
If you have decided to use your existing iPad, you will not be required to collect the HKMU iPad and iPad case. To withdraw from the iPad Pilot Programme, please contact us at ipp@hkmu.edu.hk. Also, please be reminded to download the mobile applications by yourself. Here are some of the applications that you will need for school:
