This pathway is not applicable to graduates of Associate of Business of the University. They should refer to the regular undergraduate programmes offered by the University.

Programme Description

This programme provides broad coverage of the key aspects of today's management. It also gives students the opportunity to acquire contemporary knowledge and skills, including innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and social responsibilities, and how they are embedded in practice behind successful businesses. Together with the transferable skills developed through the programme, students could build a successful career or start their own business in a wide range of business areas.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

  1. Explain and critically review business theories and concepts to identify issues, analyse situations, and develop solutions for multi-faceted problems in organisational settings.
  2. Critically evaluate issues and make informed judgements in view of the organisation's strategies as well as ethical considerations.
  3. Reflect on new ways of thinking and make meaningful contributions as a leader and member in a team setting and communicate effectively.
  4. Command knowledge of the practices and activities of different aspects of management.
  5. Integrate and apply advanced analytical skills to address issues and make business and management decisions related to complex situations.
  6. Assimilate and synthesise new knowledge in different aspects of management, apply it to solve problems related to management, and develop practical recommendations.

Programme Requirement

Programme-specific entry requirement:

A recognized Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in a business-related area (or its equivalent).

 

Students pursuing this programme must successfully complete at least 63 credit-units as follows:

(a) 9 credit-units of University Core courses:

(b) 27 credit-units of Core courses:

(c) 18 credit-units of Management Concentration Core courses from Table 2 and 9 credit-units of Management Concentration Elective course from Table 3 in one of the following combinations:

Choosing the first courses to get started

Students taking the Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Management Studies programme through pathway 1 are recommended to begin their studies with one of the concentration core courses at 3000-level such as ACT 3094BED Accounting in Business and Practice, BUS 3005BED Exploring Innovation and Entrepreneurship, MGT 3008BED Developing Leadership or MKT 3006BED Understanding Customers.

Other combinations of Concentration Courses

If students prefer to take Management Concentration courses in another combination, they may consider related programme.
