Details:
Master of Arts in Creative Writing student Fu Wei submitted his serial poem “Word Bricks” (字磚) to the 41st National University Student Cherry Blossom Poetry Invitational Competition and came away with a Second Class Award. His poem is an exploration of his own approach to poetry — an ongoing effort to discover surprises in his everyday life.

The National University Student Cherry Blossom Poetry Invitational Competition is organised by the reputable Wuhan University and accepts submissions from students all over the country. The 41st edition received over 2,000 submissions in total, which were reviewed by a judging panel composed of famous poets and scholars including Qiu Huadong, Li Shaojun and Qin Liyan. For Fu Wei, the award came as another recognition for his creative writing work in addition to the prizes he has previously garnered.
