Choy Ka-yan, studying Chinese, participated in the 29th Hong Kong inter-collegiate Chinese couplet competition and received the Merit Award in the Tertiary Group. Her winning couplet was “煙中帆影時開落，雪下鴻泥乍有無”.
The competition, organised by the Cultural and Educational Association of the New Towns, aims to promote Chinese culture among secondary and tertiary students. The judging panel included Prof. Richard Ho Man-wui, Chairman of the Association and Honorary Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK); Prof. Nicholas L Chan, Vice-Chair of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of CUHK; and Prof. Wong Kuan-Io, Professor of the Discipline of Language, Literature and Arts at Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education.
