如何吸引和挽留優秀學術人才,一直是自資院校要解決的難題。大學從「質素優化措施」計劃撥款,設立「中央學術人員基金」以開展「環球學術人才招聘計劃」,又成立「學術人員發展基金」,予教學人員最多為期12 個月的進修休假,讓他們專注研究或專業發展。大學亦引入年度晉升制度,所有教學人員均可申請。晉升委員會會按既定準則考慮每宗申請,不會預設晉升人數。本學年,大學共增聘了八名教授級或以上的學術人員,並在49 宗晉升申請中,批准了 24 宗。上述招聘及晉升計劃可望提升高級與初級教員比例。本校亦會研究增設臨床職系和實務教授職級,希望能吸引經驗豐富的行業人才加入教學團隊。
