Library About Us Library Projects Library Learning Commons and Learning Space Enhancement Project 2019
To cater for the latest and changing needs of our users, the Library initiated the Library Learning Commons and Learning Space Enhancement Project in the summer of 2018 with the aim of refurbishing the learning spaces in the Stanley Ho Library (Main Campus) and Ho Sik Yee Library (Jockey Club Campus) to better serve users' different needs. With the support of the University, the Project commenced in late 2018. During the implementation of the Project, two focus group meetings were held in order to solicit students' views and suggestions. Furniture samples were also on display for trial by students and faculty.

The Project was successfully completed in August 2019. The newly designed Learning Commons in the Ho Sik Yee Library incorporates features that facilitate different learning needs and activities, including zones for studying collaboratively or individually, a space that could be arranged flexibly for subject talks or workshops, and a cozy reading and refreshment corner. The Specialized Financial Databases and Internet Workstations Area located near the Stanley Ho Library entrance has been given a new look with modern furniture to encourage collaborative learning. A new Collaboration Zone has also been set up on the 1/F of the Stanley Ho Library to cater for the needs for group study and collaborative learning.
